GBP International conducted a location study for a Finnish manufacturer of underground rubber wheeled machinery for the mining- and underground construction industry. The company is planning to set up local manufacturing facilities in Southeast Asia in order to be closer to their customers and benefit from lower manufacturing costs.
GBP International was tasked to do a comparative cost analysis of the required fixed and variable costs for the construction and operation of the factory in different locations.
GBP International also provided a cost estimate for locally hired personnel (in total more than 100 persons – managers, engineers, finance and administration, welders, assemblers, machinist, painters, etc.) and the recruitment costs in order to fill those job positions.
Thirdly, GBP International assessed what the costs would be for the 3 – 5 expats living in Malaysia and bench-marked various types of accommodation, schooling, medical services cost factors.
