ASEAN explained

ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising ten countries in Southeast Asia. The ten member states of ASEAN are Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The ASEAN region is a diverse and vibrant one, with over 600 million people and a combined GDP of over $3 trillion. It is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies.

ASEAN plays a vital role in promoting regional cooperation and integration in Southeast Asia. Its efforts have led to increased economic growth, political stability, and social development in the region.
